“In grieving we admit the truth – that we were hurt by someone we loved, we lost something very dear, and it hurt us very much…Grief is a form of validation; it says the wound mattered.” John Eldredge

Separation and divorce are among life's most difficult and painful experiences. You need the help and encouragement of others as you attempt to heal and restore balance to your life. Oasis is a special place of encouragement, learning, and sharing. Oasis meets weekly, providing you with an ongoing "support team" as you deal with the issues surrounding your separation or divorce. There are two parts to each weekly Oasis session. During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, the group watches a videotape featuring top experts on divorce and recovery topics. These tapes contain valuable information about recovering from divorce and are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format.

The following topics will be discussed during the 13-week course of the program:
Week 1: What’s happening to me? Week 2: The road to healing and finding help Week 3: Facing my anger Week 4: Facing my depression Week 5: Facing my loneliness Week 6: What does the owner’s manual say? Week 7: New relationships Week 8: Financial survival Week 9: Kid care Week 10: Single sexuality Week 11: Forgiveness Week 12: Reconciliation Week 13: Moving on and growing closer to God

Following the video, the participants spend time as a group discussing what was presented on that week's videotape and what is going on in the lives of the group's participants. Each group is led by two experienced group facilitators.

The fall session of Oasis is full. The next session will begin in January.
